Tempeh Sausage Patties

These patties are cooked in the oven to make it easy.  They are still solid slabs, so they work great in a biscuit!


1 lb tempeh

¼ c tamari

1 c beer


2 T Cider vinegar

1 T fennel

1 t basil

1 t majoram

1 t sage

1 t garlic powder

½ t red pepper flakes

1.      Slice tempeh in patty sized slabs and then split each tempeh burger to ½ thickness.

2.     Prepare marinade and add tempeh slabs.  This can be done up to a few days ahead. 

3.     Heat oven to 350F.  Bake until marinade is almost absorbed, 20-30 min.  Flip and continue to cook until marinade is completely absorbed, about 10 more minutes.
